Barnaby

        Hi I'm Barnaby!

I am a long haired white and orange cat that lives here with my sister Willow and our two humans. I'm very handsome. I have a fur ruff around my neck and a small mane around my shoulders. Sophie says I look like a Norwegian Forest cat.

I'm glad I'm not a forest cat. I don't want to live in a forest. One of the best days of my life so far was the day that Sophie and c decided to adopt me. It was almost worth the trip to the vet and the medicine I had to take and the daily ear cleanings I had for two weeks.

Willow wasn't happy that I came to live here. She was mean at first, but then she came around and realized that things would be just fine. Plus she would have someone to chase her. She likes to run.

I like living in a house with our humans. I don't have to hunt for food and there are nice warm places to sleep. We have great toys. Willow likes springs and I have learned to like them too. I prefer sparkle balls. One of the things Willow and I enjoy doing is kicking springs and balls under the refrigerator and under a cabinet in the dining room. Sophie clears toys out once a week. It's like having new toys.

There  are lots of windows in the house. I enjoy sitting in the windows. Not only can people see how handsome I am, I can also watch for intruders. I am the Deputy House Cat. Willow says that it is our job to keep our humans safe. I think we are a good team. I like to watch and Willow likes to run. Although it hasn't happened yet, Willow could chase intruders out of the house. I also the the sun puddles that from in through the windows. It's fun to sunbathe in them.

We have good humans. We have plenty of food and get wet food twice a week. We have trained C to give us a gravy treat every day. He thinks he has trained us, but we know better. Sophie gives good pets whenever I want them. I like the way she gently scratches around my neck and chest. She is good at head and belly rubs too. Sometimes I have to nip her to get her to stop when I want her too. I can understand though. I have nice soft silky fur that's nice to touch.

I'm not fond of being brushed or of having my claws trimmed. Sophie has cut my claws a bit short couple times and it hurts. She tells me it wouldn't happen if I would just be still when she does claw trims. I remind her that I am a cat and do whatever I want.

There is snow outside today. This is the second time I've seen snow. It looks pretty and is white like me. If it weren't for the fact that I'm scared to go outside I think it would be fun to frolic in it. I would look so handsome prancing on the snow. It's nap time so I'm going to find a place to lay down. Bye!
