A Good Day

C and I didn't know what we were going to do today. Our anniversary was last weekend, but we went to a wedding and I worked on Sunday. We decided that we would do something today. The question was, what would we do?
C wanted to go on a boat cruise on the Mississippi, but the cruise he wanted to take was booked. The weather report was not looking very good. Neither of us had any idea. We knew what we would be doing in the morning. We would go to the Temple. After that was anyone's guess.
This morning we got up and went to the Temple. We saw some friends there. It was good to see them.
After that we went to breakfast. We like to go to a local IHOP on Saturday morning. While we were waiting for our food. We looked outside. It was raining a little bit. We decided to go to the farmer's market. The best sweet corn comes to the market right about now. We decided that we would watch the weather and decide later.
We walked around the market for awhile. Besides the corn we found some tomatoes, fingerling potatoes and carrots. While we walked around it looked like it was clearing up. Maybe we could go to the Arboretum.
The weather showed that the rain was only 15%. It looked good. We packed out water bottles. I brought a blanket that I am crocheting. We took off.
We got there at about two and found a place to park. C did not bring his camera with him. I was looking forward to a good walk. There were a couple weddings going on. This means that some of the gardens were closed until the weddings were over. The gardens look beautiful. There is something about a gray day that seems to bring out the colours in the flowers. It could be the rain that made everything glisten as well.
It was nice to just wanted around. Usually we have a set route that we walk. C normally is looking for good shots. Today he was able to just enjoy things. He did take a few pictures with his phone camera. We spent a happy couple of hours enjoying the outdoors and each other.
We drove home. We had already planned what we were going to do. We were going to have hamburgers, sweet corn and some of the vegetables. C cooked the burgers and corn. I peeled and cut up the vegetables. It was a good dinner. The burgers were cooked perfectly. The corn was tasty.
Now I'm sitting on the couch watching my favourite football team, the NDSU Bison. It's kind of a nail biter for me. No one has scored and NDSU has just turned over the ball. This isn't the way the Bison usually play. I really hope that the Bison win this one. If they do then this day will be perfect.
If they don't, it will still be a good day. I got to spend it with C at one of our favourite places. We had a good meal together and once I'm done writing, I'm going to knit.
It doesn't get much better for this for me.......
